The company initially concentrated its efforts in the Asian IT market with the intention of introduction to the computer market Chinese developed products in the area of broadband networking technology. Aside from hardware components, the company likewise provides customer service along with technical support.
Above Cable added its Chengdu office to take advantage of one of the more active economic centers situated within Southwestern China which also represents the capital of the Sichuan Province. Along with its Shanghai office, the company is slowly but surely establishing a firm ground for its market participation.
Putting an emphasis on development (product and services) and promotional marketing, the company began to introduce into the IT market its products in the same year as its founding. Above Cable Wireless Ethernet AirCon series was the first product line to be introduced by the company in the Asian IT market. New product launches were initiated by the company by the second half of 2002.
The second round of product releases was focused on the delivery of updated software programs to the end user. These also included applications which are intended to enhance the broadband networking experience as well as simplifying its implementation. The second line in its product portfolio carried the AirSolution product brand.
The AirCon product series includes terminal adapters, wireless gateways, wireless routers, and access points. The terminal adapters incorporated into this series covers CF (Compact Flash I and II), USB, PCI, and PCMCIA formats. Bi-directional amplifiers, power splitters (two- and four-way distributions), arrester, power amplifier dedicated injectors, and antenna which all run on the 2.4GHz frequency are also part of this product line.
As for the AirSolution products, it is comprised mostly of updated AirCon Series products including Wireless LAN applications, , Global roaming clearing programs, Central Control Wireless LAN-user billing system, HotSpot Service Gateway, and Safety equipment cluster management platform.
The Access Point 2410-54/BW (Ver.H) remains as one of the more notable products released by the company to the computer market. This Above Cable product boasts of a centralized management design which can be implemented on public networks. It also allows for the support of 54Mbps data transfer capabilities on wireless network coverages.
The waterproof product also includes features that allow it to be deployed in relation to thermal and outdoor activities. Known implementations of this device are commonly seen in coffee bars, hotels, airports, and other similar public access areas.
Some of the more popular projects handled by Above Cable is the implementation of the wireless network solution of the Shanghai Grand Wyatt Hotel along with the deployment of services and products for wireless connectivity involving Fujian and Shanghai Telecom.
