Description: Established in 1987 as Accrosser Technology Ltd. Co., it became involved in the manufacturing of embedded industrial and single board computing devices. Headquartered in Taiwan, the company played a vital role and exerted influence in the global development of industrial computer systems. A year after its founding, Accrosser introduced its ROM/SRAM Disk Card.

This technology virtually abolished stability issues associated with the use of disc drives. Its initial success led to the creation of the Export Division in 1992 to cater to the international IT market. The company is also noted for the delivery of embedded platform services that support different applications. Accrosser Technology products are produced with inherent compatibility with Linux, DOS, Windows CE, and XP Embedded Operating System platforms. In 2006, the company produced the world’s first EPIC single board computer in the AR-B1631. This product implements an AMD Geode processor with low power consumption and is accompanied by the CS5535 device for high speed performance common in power saving equipped computer systems.

The AR-B1631 uses an entirely fan less processor which can support various operating system platforms. The ISO 9001 Certification of the company was received in 1996. The manufacturing center located in Taipei, Taiwan conforms to the IPC-A-610 industry standards. Aside from its Taiwan based office, the company also draws support from its branches located in Sweden, Slovakia, Czech Republic, the Netherlands, Singapore, Brazil, Malaysia, Israel, Italy, Argentina, mainland China, and the United States.

At present Acetek is the company’s sole subsidiary which specializes in the manufacture and design of new computer products. Majority of its international businesses are handled via strategic business partnerships that include BWI, Amax Engineering Corp, Bells Softech Corp, and Southwest Research Institute. Its LCD partners are Prime View Display Inc, Signet LCD Inc, EarthLCD.Com, and Apollo Display Technologies.

For the company’s Add-On Module and I/O products are distributed in cooperation with its partners that include Access I/O Products Inc, Cito Systems, Aprotek Inc, and Contec Microelectronic USA Inc. Aside from these various product lines, its portfolio also includes Embedded OS and Wireless Solution devices. Partners for this product lines are Micro Digital Inc, Forward Engineering LLC, BSquare, and Embedded Works.
