Company Name: Acqiris Data Conversion Instruments
Description: Headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland, the Acqiris Data Conversion Instruments is considered as a manufacturer of high speed and high resolution digitizers along with time to digital converters and waveform analyzers.
The company was acquired in December of 2006 by Agilent. Acqiris was founded in 1998 to cater to the measurement solution requirements of the IT and manufacturing industries.
The company was initially based in Santa Clara, California with William P. Sullivan serving as its President and CEO. Since the acquisition, Acqiris products have been integrated into the product portfolio of Agilent.
Other products which have been integrated by Agilent have retained their Acqiris brand name due to their attained stature in the industry.
Some of these products include the 8- and 12-bit Acqiris High-Speed PCI Digitizers, 8- and 10-bit Acqiris PXI Digitizers, Acqiris Data Acquisition Systems and Software, 8-, 10-, and 12-bit cPCI Digitizers, Autosynchronous Bus Terminations for Acqiris Digitizers, and the 12-channel Acqiris CompactPCI Time-to-Digital Converters.
The high speed digitizers are primarily intended for maximizing the performance of ACD chipsets. This front end analog technology supports signal conditioning, amplification, and interleaving functionalities which are essential elements for rapid data acquisition techniques.
Optimum data throughput is assured by the synchronization and clock signal components that efficiently handle digital data capturing and recording.
Rapid digitizers offer the user with an affordable solution for single- and dual-channel data acquisition methods through its compact card which can be hosted on a compatible computer system port. Dual-channel architectures have inherent timing measurement functionalities allowing for effective performance on both channels.
Channel timing is handled by the ADC incorporated to each channel and controlled by the time-base electronic circuit to allow for precise timing. This technology minimizes the usage of the silicon-germanium which serves as its front end circuitry.
This technology is capable of handling a maximum bandwidth of 1GHz and is suitable in the implementation of rapid signal measurements. The digitizer can accurately measure signals with less than a nanosecond length interval. The programmable front end circuitry sets a comprehensive range of input voltages with a variable offset feature. Protection of the accurate input impedance is handled by surpassing the voltage range set.
Internal calibration of amplifiers is done to eliminate the need for the end user to cut-off input signals.
Measurement and test equipment products of Acqiris are completely supported by the market leader Agilent and its strategic business partners. This allows for the presence of all Acqiris products in the international IT and electronic markets.
