Company Name: Adara
Description: Adara Networks is the first computer manufacturer in the IT industry to offer to the market route optimization products that are based on the 7th layer of the OSI application data model for computer networks. The company remains involved in various advanced networking solutions in diverse industries.
Currently headquartered in Scotts Valley, California, company management team is headed by Eric Johnson (CEO) and Harrick Vin (CTO).
The core proficiency of the company resides in the optimization of service provider, enterprise, and carrier networks by integrating its solutions into the current network infrastructure of its clients. This methodology translates to cost reduction in upgrading network structures since network hardware (like routers, servers, and similar devices) and software applications remain intact.
The company is also capable of creating, developing, testing, and deploying next generation customized solutions for network environments. Adara implements a proprietary technology which allows service providers, businesses, and media distributors with access to Wide Area Networks (WAN) and web performance systems and devices to cater to the needs of their clients or their organization.
Measurement of client to server latency allows the company to enable either low latency or large bandwidth applications that can function in a WAN environment but with an improved LAN based performance.
The company has successfully developed a range of products that efficiently optimizes resources and performance of internal networks.
This technology is represented in the Network Path Xcelerator (Adara NPX) which supports intelligent management of network traffic coupled with load balancing technology. The device functions by calculating pieces of data like server load and availability, service or object location, network congestion and distance, and client location to arrive at an accurate assessment of ongoing network performance leveraged against an agreed industry standard. Through this process, the client is always assured of receiving an optimal point of service within the network environment.
Every Adara NPX system is composed of various functional elements like the NPX Application Routing, NPX Global Quality of Service Management, NPX eXternal Server Adapter, Secure Socket Layers (SSL), Firewall capability, and NPX Security with IPSec-based Virtual Private Networking (VPN).
The method of optimization involves the NPX system redirecting the network client to the most optimal server available on the network based on the requests of the client. The mechanism for redirection involves the calculation of the shortest distance with the clearest route available to the proxy from an information source. Other considerations include lower latency and data loss.
The process also helps to identify the best channel for peer servers, optimum path, optimal servers, and optimum sites. Adara’s competency allowed it to receive a $7.3 million contract from the Naval Health Research Center (NHRC) for the design and testing of a network platform by resolving issues on scalability, integration complexity, and network latency. In May 17, 2004 the company collaborated with Neopolis Development LLC and Sun Microsystems for the provision of an advanced networking system to the Lost Rabbit project of the TND (Traditional Neighborhood Development) in Central Mississippi.
