Description: The Advanced Multimedia Internet Technology, Inc. or AMIT is a Taiwan-based manufacturing company that was created in 1998. The company’s business was predominantly made towards supplying components for OEM/ODM companies which means that their products were mostly distributed under various brand names.

Based in the City of Tainan it was one of the pioneering companies in Taiwan to specialize in printer-server-IP addressing technology.

The AMIT product portfolio is divided into four classifications, broadband routers, home connectivity, smart products, and home entertainment. In the field of broadband routers, it produces wired and wireless variants that host third generation (3G) mobile technology.

For home connectivity, AMIT manufactures devices that make use of Universal Serial Bus (USB), Peripheral Component Interface (PCI), mini-PCI bus, and card bus interfaces. Internet security monitoring devices produced by the company are classified as smart products. Other products include network attached storage, and wireless audio and video adapters, servers, door phone systems, and wireless music stations.

The flagship products of the company are mainly its digital home components which catered to digital multimedia, connectivity, storage, and gateway component services. AMIT has also successfully built a name for itself in the field of manufacturing and designing of embedded systems.

The company retains majority of its agreements with ODM and OEM manufacturers to allow for worldwide distribution of its manufactured computer hardware components and software based applications. The bulk of AMIT designed and manufactured products can be seen in many branded consumer products.
