Description: Located in Tempe, Arizona, Affirmative Computer Products Inc. (ACPI) is responsible for the design, production, and distribution of various computer products and peripherals to the international IT market. The company which was created in 1997 is headed by its CEO Charles Winslow who prior to joining ACPI held the position of President at Better On-Line Solutions USA.

The primary products initially carried by ACPI were the 5250/PC and 3270/PC keyboard devices which the company purchased the rights from Better On-Line Solutions.

Winslow was directly responsible for the design of additional keyboard drivers which featured emulation applications under the various Microsoft Windows Operating System platforms. Serving as the foundation of the ACPI business, the company introduced PC and Network Terminal Logic Units into the computer market.

The company’s products utilized the original designs for the keyboard devices which imitated terminal keyboards when used in relation with legacy applications but automatically shifted behavior once Windows based software were actively utilized by the user.

Presently the company continuous to support the 5250 and the 3270 product lines with the addition of display and printer devices for the IBM, iSeries, S/390, and zSeries (midrange and mainframe computer systems) into its product portfolio. ACPI also began supporting Windows and Linux Operating System based terminals with its 3270 and 5250 style keyboards. These products made the user’s shift from OS/400 (mainframe) programs to Windows and browser based applications a lot easier and faster.

With its relative success in the IT market, the company introduced the YEStation Mini Series which were mostly thin clients utilizing the AMD 466 processor chip. These systems were capable of hosting the operating system environments of Linux and Microsoft Windows CE.NET. Some of the advantages provided by these products include 29% savings in operation, 30% percent less power consumption, 20% increase in speed, and 35% smaller in deployment.

The YEStablet 7325 Model is the portable version of its thin client which operates on a Windows CE.NET platform and provides access to the Windows Terminal Services, Citrix Servers, and IBM host computer terminal emulation services. The 7366 Model of the YEStablet caters mostly to industrial applications and is designed more for outdoor deployment with inherent support for both Linux and UNIX hosts along with the midrange and mainframe computer platforms of IBM.

Terminal emulation for the YEStablet is provided by the TN5250e and the TN3270e that efficiently transforms the green screen of the computer system to a user interface that is similar to that used in the Windows environment.
