Company Name: Albatron

Description: Founded in Taiwan in 1984 as Chu Yun Electronics, the company initially involved itself in the production of widescreen multimedia monitors, plasma screens, and projector systems. Albatron Technology was only adopted by the company in 2002 to reflect the expansion of its product portfolio and other deliverables. The product line expansion covered the addition of LCD monitors, computer mainboards, graphic accelerators, and communication devices.

During the same year the company established its new office in Chung Ho City located in Taipei Hsien. In the course of the year the company also became a Direct Account of Intel, solidified partnerships with other market leaders (in the likes of Ali, SiS, and ViA), and achieved the status of Nvidia Certified Vendor. The company’s most visible and active management personality is CEO Jack Ko.

The main focus of Albatron’s business operation remains in the area of computer peripheral and equipment markets. Some of its more saleable products in the international IT industry include computer motherboards, Dynamic Random Access Memory (DRAM) modules, Video Graphics Adaptor (VGA) cards, and digital amplifier cards.

More specifically, the models that are in demand in the computer market are Albatron GEForce 7300 GT, Albatron K151PV-754, Tee PC Rocker, Albatron PX875P Pro, PCCI 8600GT, KN800, Albatron Trinity GeForce 6600GT AGP, DDR 400, and DDR2-800.

Albatron Technology maintains that its products are the result of the blending of vigilant market research and emerging IT trends. The company continuously strives to deliver to the computer and consumer electronics markets groundbreaking devices and technology.

The company pioneered the introduction of the world’s first AM2-based mini ITX architecture motherboard, the first 37-inch SVGA monitor (in the Taiwanese market), Wireless Audio (WIDIO) system (the first delivered in the market), and the first computer motherboard to support DDR400 DRAM memory modules in the Taiwan computer market.

The relative success achieved by the company in the international market opened more opportunities and allowed it to establish more counterpart offices in different parts of the globe. This move is part of the company’s global branding initiatives and strategy to make its niche in the IT industry.

By 1997, its California office was created, by 2001 its first European branch (in the Netherlands) entered the computer market, and Albatron Technology went into a joint venture with a China based computing firm.

International recognition for its development process and product standards was reinforced through the receipt of the Editor’s Choice Award for 2008 from the PC Magazine (Russia) for its Albatron 9600GT-512 video card product.

The company was also honored with the Silver Award for 2008 from the HWM (Malaysia) for the Albatron 8800GT-512X graphics card, and the Recommended Hardware Award (2007) from Goldfries.com for the Albatron 8600GT-256 product. ComputerWorld (Hungary) also presented this product with the Recommendation Award (also in 2007).
