Description: Arima Computer Corporation is an information hardware and communication technology company. It is recognized as a publicly-held original equipment manufacturing establishment and a certified ISO-9002 company. Founded in 1989; it is based in Taipei, Taiwan, and currently employs around 7,167, people. It has manufacturing facilities throughout Taiwan, and operates across the United States, Asia and Europe. It is not considered as one of the leaders in providing integrated service in the industry.

Arima started out producing notebook computers but has already added various computer related products into their product line. At present, Arima Computer designs and manufactures wireless communication products, information products and optoelectronics devices mainly for manufacturers of computer hardware; but it also retails its products. Its notebook product segments include mainstream, performance and value, to serve customers looking for high speed processing and large memory capacity at a lower cost.

It is currently headed by Chairman Lee Sen Tien; and Tsai Lien Chin who holds the position of President and Director. Chairman Lee envisions the company as an integrated information technology (IT) service and solution provider with core technologies and diverse products to meet the customers' needs and satisfaction.

With the aim of producing internet appliances, Arima partnered with Be Incorporated in 2001. Arima Computer products now include Personal Digital Assistants (PDAs), Internet Appliances, Boxes with Set-top, Optoelectronics, and various products for Display. The company now focuses on product groups of notebooks, multimedia, servers, video and consumer electronics.

Anima was the first company able to produce liquid crystal display (LCD) computers. In 2001, along with its partner, they designed and manufactured the tablet PC. Then, in 2004, Arima Computer launched its Intel Sonoma Platform called NB and an NB with a 64-bit AMD Turion. One year after, the company launched their 17-inch Intel Sonoma tabletop machine. That same year, Arima Group got G Plan subsidy and also implemented RoHS Directives.

In 2006, the company launched its Intel Laptop with a Dual Core CPU; Workstations and Entertainments with a Dual GPU; Slim and Stylish Laptop with a 13.3” screen; an all-in-one, high performance LCD PC and 42” and 40” high definition television.

Arima’s server products include HDAMB, HDAMA, PDLB and R2133 models. Its multimedia products include camera modules and smart phones with WAP and integrated cameras. Video products include portable DVD players and LCD monitors. Arima’s consumer electronics products are personal digital devices and digital radio tuners.
