Description: Atec System Company Limited, which is based in Seoul, South Korea, is a provider of LCD products, particularly for computers such as its Flatop LCD integrated PC, LCD TV, LCD monitors, and LCDs for industrial equipment. Shin Seung-yeong serves as Atec’s Chief Executive Officer. The company was established in June 1993 and only a month after, it was chosen as a cooperating firm for South Korea’s network for defense computing. By October 1995, the company’s paid-in capital rose from KRW 100 million to KRW 200 million and it obtained certification in its capability to assess security in the provision of products to the military. Atec was registered as a system integration (SI) firm in September 1997 and it was ISO-9001 certified by March 1999.

Atec’s Flatop Integrated PC has drastically decreased the size of the desktop computer. Its line of LCD display products includes the Infotop series of web kiosks, and the Zinat and Neoview monitors. It is also conducting continuous studies on products that require LCD displays, such as the LCD Car TV, LCD TV sets, and Tablet PCs. Its LCD television sets come in sizes of 32 inches, 37 inches, 42 inches, and 47 inches.

Atec System Company Limited was able to thrive even during that period when several companies went into bankruptcy as a result of the financial crisis. In fact, it was able to set up a research center that focused on the development of LCD displays.

Atec System Company introduced the LCD with an integrated computer in 1998, which came as a surprise for this industry sector because competitors were then having problems with noise and heat as a result of the structure. It was only through a number of trial and error attempts by Atec staff that they were able to develop the Flatop Integrated PC through the proper selection of materials and the maximization of air flow within the device to reduce the accumulation of heat within the unit.

To further hone its edge in the LCD display market, it has been investing 15 percent of labor cost and five percent of sales in R&D annually to optimize spatial utilization and user convenience in the hope of providing the best Korean LCD Integrated PC.
