Atoz Technology was founded in July of 1989 with a paid up capital of US$11.6 million. The company is headquartered in Taipei, Taiwan. Atoz focuses on the creation of personal computers that are small in form. Atoz Technology’s stylish and high-quality series of personal computers are developed ideally for home users. They could also be utilized for system integration and in small to medium-sized offices.
The company has gained international recognition for its introduction of the EZgo computers series. The products were the world’s smallest computers. In spite of their smallness, these computers that were Wintel-based have wireless communication modules that are capable of performing ID authentication. Atoz had incorporated the SmartCard technology into the product as well.
The EZgo Micro PC e3, has the dimensions of a standard CD-ROM player and is the smallest among the series. The product is compatible with interfaces that include the 1394, USB, RS232, parallel, AV/S video, IrDA, LAN, hard drive, speakers, swappable drives and internal modem. The said computer also has a heat sink.
The EZgo Micro PC e5 by Atoz is most suited for office and home usage. The product is stylish and yet portable and efficient. It is considered to be a combination technology of both the notebook and the desktop. It could also be configured for 10/100 local area networks, modems, SO-DIMM DDR, USB2.0, Intel Pentium 4 and 1394.
It was in 2002 that Atoz’s EZgo Micro PC e7 received recognition for the Best of Compujtex in the PC server category. Although it is a bit bigger and heavier than the EZgo e5, its size is about that of an office phone. The product had been intended for professionals and Atoz Technology guaranteed that it is capable of completing huge workloads.
A Sis 651 chipset and an Intel Pentium 4 processor powers this microcomputer which also supports every interface that is compatible with the EZgo e3 and the EZgo e5 aside from TVout, microphone-in and PCMCIA.
The client base of Atoz Technology includes government organizations, major corporations, banking institutions, the transport industry and educational institutions. The company had also provided its services to the Taiwan Ministry and Taiwan police force until it closed.
