Avision was established by a team of engineers in April of 1991 at the Science-Based Industrial Park located in Hsinchu, Taiwan. The company had initially been an original design manufacturer or ODM and then in 1992, it began marketing Avision document scanners to Fujitsu.
Two years later, it made another agreement with Xerox, Inc. involving the provision of key components designed for the copier company’s multi-function products. The company went public at the Taiwan Stock Exchange in 1998.
For the purpose of meeting the growing requirements of its market, Avision expanded the company’s manufacturing capacity by producing up to 300,000 units of scanners monthly. It also put up additional manufacturing facilities in Taiwan and other regions in the world.
It was in November of 2001 that Avision had formally opened its manufacturing facility in the Suzhou province of China. After five years, the Avision Business Tech was established to function as the company’s secondary operating base in China.
The reliability and quality of the products are guaranteed by the company. Avision received its certifications from the ISO in 1993 and 2002. The company’s wide range of products is intended for small and home offices. It has five product lines that include the DS series of convenient copy device scanners, the Digital Copy series, the Flatbed Scanner series, the AV series of high-speed document scanners and the V series of multifunctional device scanners.
The V series of multifunctional device scanners are network scanners that offer professionals a cost-efficient method for the transfer of paper files to the Internet. The product is designed to help business enterprises increase their productivity while the cost of paper document reproduction is reduced at the same time. The product line’s features include digital copying, document emailing and document filing.
The AV series, on the other hand, provides high-quality document-imaging solutions for clients that have a limited budget. The 25 to 50 pages of built-in Auto Document Feeders of the said scanners allow users to scan at a speed of 10 to 35 pages per minute. The products have been designed to send every scanned object to a software application that has been preset like an image-editing application.
A number of Avision’s products have been labeled by the United States Department of Energy and Environmental Protection Agency as Energy Star products. Energy Star products help in the protection of the environment by the usage of less energy.
