Description: Cisco Systems Inc. was established by Len Bosack, sandy Lerner and Richard Troiano in 1984. The company’s name was derived from the name San Francisco City. The company is principally located in San Jose, California. Cisco has several satellite offices and branches throughout the world such as Philippines, Egypt, Russia, Slovenia, Hongkong, India, Vietnam, Denmark, Ireland and United Arab Emirates.

Presently, the company’s management team is led by Jon Chambers and John Morgridge, both jointly acting as company Chief Executive Officer. The company’s other top executives are Nick Adamo as the Senior Vice President for US WW Service Provider Operations and Service Provider Sales, and Gregory Akers as the Chief Technology Officer and Senior Vice President for Global Government Solutions.

Also included in the team are Tony Bates as the General Manager and Senior Vice President for Service Provider Group, Joel Bion as the Senior Vice President for Cisco Research and Advanced Development, Brad Boston as the Senior Vice President for Corporate Security Programs and Global Government Solutions and Susan Bostrom as the Chief Marketing Officer and Executive Vice President for Government Affairs and Global Policy.

Cisco’s Len Bosack was responsible for creating the multiple software technology and from thereon as responsible of developing and producing several software applications that can be utilized for the user’s computer needs.

In 1990, Cisco Systems was publicly listed on the Nasdaq Stock Exchange and subsequent to this, Lerner and Bosack left Cisco.
With the surge in the popularity of website technology, Cisco Systems initiated the production of additional applications and hardware products that include branch office routers, computer security, Ethernet switching, IP telephony, remote access and ATM networking.
