Description: Clevo was founded in Taiwan around October 1983. Primarily, their first focus was manufacturing laptops. However, Clevo later went into manufacturing other products which include computer accessories/peripherals, information appliances, and retail and communications development products.

Presently, Clevo’s top officials include Kun-Tai Hsu as the Chairman, Vice President Tien-Jung Yu, and General Manager Ming-Hsien Tsai. Clevo was initially an ODM or Original Design Manufacturer that sold laptops, computing solutions, and bare-bone PCs for AMD and Intel processors.

The company is a part of a business group along with 7 other companies which was designed to ensure faster product manufacturing. Along with Clevo, the other 7 resource companies include Chicony, AViTA, Hipro, Buynow, XAVI, Chicony Square, and Acard.

Chicony is involved in the manufacture of computer peripherals and accessories, while AViTA focuses on bio medical products. Hipro produces power supply units, while Buynow handles the sales. Likewise, the company was fist to introduce the D900K and X2 which are AMD X2 Dual-Core notebooks in 2005 and the M590K which is an SLI Technology notebook in 2006. They also released the G0-step Q6600/ Q6700 and the D900C which is an Intel Core 2 Quad-Core notebook with RAID 5 and SLI Technology. In 2008, Clevo also introduced the M860TU which is a DDR3 notebook.

Primarily, the company’s notebooks are classified into 4 categories which include the LCD PC, PortaNote, MobileNote, and TableNote notebook lines.
