Company Name: CompuPrint

Description: It was in April 15, 1983 that CompuPRINT Imaging Incorporated was founded by Reid B. Thorup (who is also the current president of the company). Thorup first named the company as Computer Ribbon and Cartridge. As the company expanded, it became inevitable to change its business name. The name CompuPRINT Imaging, Inc. was officially adopted in July 2007. The company believes that the new name perfectly captures the business nature of CompuPRINT Imaging, Inc.

As its name suggests, CompuPRINT Imaging Inc. mainly manufactures and produces cartridges for Laser printers and other similar computer devices.

The company’s founder, Reid Thorup, was a retailer for a computer hardware company back in 1983. His employment there gave him the proper exposure to the printing industry. After several years of working, he was convinced that clients who buy computer systems also purchase printers. It occurred to him that printers were also considered as basic computer devices. His clients’ search for a company that would offer recycled ribbons and cartridges gave Thorup the vision to start CompuPRINT Imaging, Inc.

Thorup’s college professor gave him the details on how he can start a business that focuses on ribbon reloading. After several years of hard work and manual refilling processes, CompuPRINT Imaging Inc. was able to purchase its first Cartridge Loading System in 1989. The said acquisition gave the company an edge over other competitors. CompuPRINT Imaging Inc. began offering remanufactured cartridges in 1990.

However, the company experienced several years of 10% failure rates. It made a move to partner with a Southern Californian company that is on the process of getting its ISO-9001 certification. The said business strategy subsequently put an end to the failure rates. Aside from this, the merge also allowed CompuPRINT Imaging Inc. to expand its market. The business move also gave the company an opportunity to provide clients product guarantees.

After the merge, the company’s profits went up to $200,000 a year. After a short period of time, CompuPRINT Imaging, Inc.’s annual profits jumped to $500,000. The ISO-9001 certification that the company has acquired from the merge gave the company a high stature.

Since 2002, CompuPRINT Imaging, Inc. has maintained the ISO certification even if the company was required to apply for renewal every six months. Aside from the certification, the company also sees to it that they employ proper policies geared towards environmental protection.

CompuPRINT Imaging, Inc. was given the Hewlett Packard Professional Status last February 2008. The said achievement officially made the company as HP’s authorized business partner.
