Description: Cumana actually references a fishing port located in Venezuela where the very first city in the continent was founded and ruled by the Spanish conquistador Gonzalo de Ocampo in 1521. The word Cumana was directly derived from the language used by the Cumanagoto tribe which literally translates to the union of the sea and the rivers.
