Description: Put up in Taipei, Taiwan in September 2000 by a certain businessman named Mr. Yu, the DXG Technology company is focused in the delivery of the highest quality digital products to the consumer market.

The company established a separate business unit to concentrate on its clock manufacturing activities. This business unit operates under the name of W&Y Taiwan Co., Ltd. The company’s long and rich experience in the business world allowed it to gain an accurate grasp of realities and trends in the IT industry.

The company made its mark in the high tech world by venturing into the production of digital cameras. DXG Technology made the commitment of becoming a leader in the digital camera manufacturing industry. Its substantial success in the digital camera market allowed the company to take part in the Emerging Stock Board of Taiwan in August 2005.

During the following year at the Computex in Taipei, DXG Technology rolled out into the computer market its latest product offering. At this event (considered as the second largest Information Technology convention in the entire world) the DVC 408 digital camcorder, DSC digital camera, and DSC 521 Portable Media Player devices made their debut in the commercial market. These product offerings also represent a significant innovation and improvement from what is currently available in the market at the time.

The DSC 521 Portable Media Player features a 2.5-inch LCD screen for viewing including a maximum of five megapixel resolution. This ingenious device was designed with the inherent functionality of supporting various media formats such as AVI, MPEG-4 (ASF), WMA, and MP3 among others. When used in Interpolation Mode, the device offers a high resolution of 12 megapixels. This portable media player device allows users to tune in to their favorite FM radio stations, watch movie files, and even play built-in computer games.

The other product unveiled at the convention, the DSC 630 functions as a digital camera that incorporates into its design a 3-inch LCD Screen that is based on the LTPS (Low Temperature Poly Silicon) technology. The device is further enhanced by its ½.5-inch CCD imaging sensor coupled with the Panasonic six megapixels and the Pentax SMC anti-glare with multi-layer coating expertise.

To produce high definition images, the said device relies on its high resolution capability that is competent in producing a maximum of 230,000 pixels per image. The built-in video recording feature of the digital camera allows for capturing of video data at the rate of 30 frames per second. The video file is produced using its native MPEG-4 VGA format. This results in video files that achieve near DVD quality.

A value added feature incorporated into the device is the Focus Illuminator technology. This technology functions by flashing an orange color light in order to assist the device in resolving LCD display problems normally associated with taking pictures under low light or dark environments.

The DVC 408 is designed as a multifunctional digital camcorder and was one of the first devices to incorporate the parallel LCD slide design in its casing. The product is capable of executing continuous focusing functionality for the capturing of clearer and more detailed images. It is equipped with a 3x optical zoom focus function that is available from its user friendly interface.

DXG Technology is one of the few companies that have received the PMA’s Innovative Digital Product Award along with the IF Product Design Award. The latter is the equivalent of the Oscar’s Award in the film industry.
