Description: FireWire Depot is a company that developed, produced and distributed FireWire peripherals. The company’s corporate base is located at the address 20 Woodland Trail in Acworth, Georgia, and was established in the year 2000. Since its establishment FireWire Depot released and marketed FireWire peripherals. However, on September 2008, FireWire Depot unfortunately had to shut down its operations.
Before FireWire Depot had to shut down its operations, it became a marketer of the FireWire brand of products from Apple. These products included bridgeboards, accessories, cables with adapters, Expresscard and Cardbus, FireWire-CAT5, enclosures for hard drives, IDE/ATA and FireWire Drive Trays, hubs, repeaters, forensic hardware, host adapters for Cardbus and PCI, RAID systems, NAS iSCSC/SAN Solutions, and Serial ATA.
FireWire Depot was considered to be the number one resource for FireWire 1394 I Link peripheral and accessories. All of FireWire Depot’s products, which included bridgeboards, hard disk drive enclosures, repeaters, hubs, PCI host adapters and PCMCIA cardbus cards, Redundant Array of Independent/Inexpensive Disks (RAID) and forensic hardware, were Open Host Controller Interface cross-platform compatible.
FireWire Depot’s line of Serial Advanced Technology Attachment (SATA) included the RM16_EX8 RAID with 16 SATA Drives, the CalDigit HDPro RAID with 8TB capacity, Enclosure for the MirrorDrive RAID, and the CalDigit HDPro RAID with 8TB capacity.
The RAID systems offered by the company included the ezRAID3 JBoD Trayless System, SR-HDPro RAID, FireWire Connections to RAID with Four SATA Drives, and the Enclosure for Dual Drive RAID with Hot-Swap capability.
FireWire Depot’s Cardbus and Expresscard line included the eSATA-EC, ExpressCard 34, 1394b FireWire 800 Cardbus Adapter, and the 1394a FireWire CardBus Card. FireWire Depot also developed, manufactured, and marketed cables and adapters. The company’s product line in this segment included the 72-inch FireWire 1394a, CFS-66R02-72, FWBX2-ECS FireWire 1394b Extend Cable, 2M FireWire 1394b to 1394a Socket CFBEXTR-9602, and the 2M FireWire 1394b Plug to 1394a Socket CFBEXTR-9602.
The company’s latest products for 2008 before its unfortunate shut down included the RM16_EX8 Sixteen (16) SATA Drives Hardware RAID 3U Systems, the MR435 Array Cage Four SATA and Tray-less SATA RAID in Three 5.25 Slots System, the CalDigit 4TB HDPro RackMount RAID System, and the CalDigit 8TB HDPro RackMount RAID PCI-X System. The MNAS-44 is a NAS solution that could provide a storage capacity of four terabytes. It afforded a data transfer speed of 35 megabytes per second and could contain up to four hard drives that are configured as RAID 5.
