GEM is a private company that was incorporated in the Cayman Islands. It has logistics centers, sales offices, and 100 percent-owned manufacturing facilities across North America and Asia.
The company presently operates three industrial units, two of which are located in Shanghai and Hefei, China and one in Kaohsiung, Taiwan. These units are responsible for the production of high-quality, advanced and high volume standard MCM and IC packages that include concepts that the company has developed in cooperation with its consumers and customers.
GEM was established by Andrew Peng, Richard J. Kulle, Leroy Harper, Thomas Gurnee, Anthony Chai and Anthony Tsui. All six founders comprise the team of the company’s management personnel. Each of the founders has over thirty years of experience in the industry and has gained an expertise in semiconductor operations, executive management, and marketing strategies.
This full-service outsourcing organization caters to vertically integrated and cable semiconductor companies. GEM has dedicated assembly lines, co-development, and standard packaging of fresh high-technology products.
The most recent products released by the company include the two new Quad 3-lead packages, 28-pin GEMM4040-28J and GEMM4040-24J. The said packages are designed to be low risk, different from the QFN style packages and cost-efficient. They had also been intended to mount on the same marks with the same pin out and have the same die size as the equal QFNs.
In consideration of its customers as extensions of the company’s packaging section, the goal of GEM is to guarantee that its short and long-term corporate capacity demands and requirements are met by the company.
The rate of the manufacturing unit growth of GEM is bigger than 25 percent annually. It is in knowing this that the company recognizes that its customers may not have a back-end expansion capability in order to continue with the growing demands of the market.
