Company Name: Infotec

Description: InfoTec Development Inc., is a Santa Ana, California based company who specializes in computer applications and integration of systems within facilities for government agencies, and public utilities.

The company took acquisition of OMA Corp in August 1992 and changed the company name to QMA/ InfoTec. OMA Corp. is a company involved in positive identification imaging and manufacture of information systems.

The company was managed by Mike Mahoney and Wayne Quick, also its founders. QMA/InfoTec is now headquartered in McLean, Virginia and currently operates as a division of Infotec. InfoTec is included in the Federal Computer Week list of top 15 providers of the US Government for Information Technology.

In July 1996, a proposed merger was completed between Pacer Systems and Infotec Development Inc. The deal came through after approval of the transaction during a Pacer’s shareholders meeting.

The name of the company is now Pacer Infotec with its headquarters in Billerica, Massachusetts. Serving as CEO and Chairman of the Board of Pacer Infotec is John C. Rennie. He was also the former Chairman of the Board and CEO of Pacer Systems.

Pacer, a publicly-held firm for Information Technology Services has main operations to service government electronic and engineering services. Their integration contracts are largely involved with the US Navy. For the privately held division, Pacer is engaged in the same industry and has prime clients such as the United States Air Force and NASA.

Pacer has businesses involved in integration of core systems, but other than that, it has units that also specialize in land and geographic management information systems (GIS and LMIS). The company is also involved in providing local area network services and electronic products.

During the merger, there are stipulated terms such as former shareholders of InfoTec receive the Pacer InfoTech stock of 44%. Under Pacer Infotec are 540 employees and has $142 million worth of backlog contracts. The company maintains facilities in London and Moscow, as well as 20 offices in the United States.

According to John Rennie (CEO and Chairman of the Board) there is an expansion of opportunities for the company. The company will continue to maintain their competitiveness and technical strength to ensure consistent growth. Furthermore, he stated that strength in management will contribute greatly to reach higher sales when supported with an increase in external growth.
