The company continued to market wireless semiconductors and chips and later focused on portable devices. However, in early months of 2005 it was merged with MediaTek, Inc., which is also a Taiwan-based semiconductor company.
The expertise of InProComm, Inc. was in the field of communication theory, analog IC design, digital IC design, software solutions, networking, system hardware, firmwares, DSP development, and algorithms.
Included to InProComm’s stiff competitors were the Atheros Communications, Inc., Broadcom Corporation, D Link Corporation, Ali Corporation, Intersil Corporation, ADMtek, Ralink Technology, Telewise, Realtek Semiconductor, zyDAS Technology, and Airoha.

The chips IPN2120 and IPN2220 were two of the well-known and widely used chips produced by the company. These chips were used in many laptop models like the Aspire 1520 series, Acer’s TravelMate, HP’s Bell Easynote A5560, and some Buffalo and Toshiba laptops.
Moreover, InProComm was also recognized as a developer of different software solutions for Internet access and wireless communications. These solutions were offered to some well-known companies producing semiconductor system applications.
InProComm was likewise highly involved in wireless applications and wireless modems. The company was even one of the earliest WLAN IP contributors in the TSMC’s IP alliance program.
The company also created various versions of drivers. Some of their produced drivers are the 2120 Driver, INPROCOMM IPN2120 Wireless LAN Card Driver, C130 Driver, Inprocomm_2120 Driver, MW302P Driver, Wireless-G Notebook Adapter v4.0 Driver, and IPN2220 Driver.
InProComm, Inc. also delved into designing of portable devices. But it was not a long venture because it was later merged with MediaTek. Some of the company’s products are still available in the market under MediaTek.
