Description: Itautec SA is a Brazilian company originally located in São Paulo City. The company develops information technology products and solutions. It aims to be at the forefront of banking automation.

Itautec’s current Board of Directors is composed of Chairman Paulo Setubal Neto, Vice Chairman Rodolfo Villela Marino, and Board Members Olavo Egydio Setubal Jr., Alfredo Egydio Arruda Villela Filho, Renato Roberto Cuoco, and Jairo Cupertino.

Itaú Tecnologia SA was established on November 16, 1979. In 1980, Itautec moved to its new location, Avenida do Estado, where it began to create hardware, software, and application solutions.

In 1981, its first prototype of a microcomputer was showcased at the 1st International Information Technology Exposition. This was immediately followed by the launching of its first microcomputer (I-7000), and the installation of its first ATM (Automated Teller Machine) at Banco Itau.

A technology transfer contract agreement was signed by Itautec and Canon for copy machines in 1989. In 1992, Itautec made a partnership with Intel to assemble and distribute servers in Brazil.

Itec SA established a joint venture with Itautec and IBM in 1993 to oversee the business of AS/400 products. In 2003, Itautec announced its acquisition of Riva Inform á tica, a Spain-based developer of retail software applications.

The company has its corporate and domestic markets operations divided into four business categories. These are: information technology, automation, services, and distribution. Itautec’s information technology product lines consist of desktops, laptops, and servers. Its automation products include ATMs, point-of-sale terminals, self-service terminals, fiscal printers, and various software solutions.

It also offers installations, infrastructure, outsourcing, and technical support services. Itautec is a value-added distributor of IBM, Apple, Novell, Extreme, Avaya, Pineapp, and NetApp products.

In 2007, Itautec took the second place in FIESP's Environmental Excellence Award and the fifth spot in the Brazilian Environmental Benchmarking. In the same year, Itautec was named the Outstanding Company of the Year (Services – Large Size category) by Plano Editorial’s Anuário Informática Hoje (Information Technology Year Book Today).

Itautec sells its products and provides technical support services for its costumers in Spain, Argentina, Portugal, Mexico, and United States.

It operates through Tallard’s subsidiaries in Argentina, Brazil, Venezuela, Columbia, Chile, Ecuador, and the United States. Tallard, a division of Grupo Itautec, is the largest value-added distributor for Latin America.
