Description: Kleer is a semiconductor company specializing in the production of wireless devices for audio products. The company established partnerships with several companies engaged in the audio business, namely: Sennheiser, a German audio transmission company; RCA, a producer of audio and video devices; DigiFi, a manufacturer of video and audio portable products; Cy-Fi, a producer of wireless speakers for bikers; and Sleek Audio, an earphones and headphones manufacturer. Kleer has offices in the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom. The company’s products are distributed throughout North America, Korea, and Japan.

Kleer manufactures wireless technology for products such as portable audio players, MP3 players and accessories, speakers for home theater systems, earphones, headphones, and other audio outlets. Its clients and partners are mostly OEMs (Original Equipment Manufacturers) that wish to incorporate wireless technology in their portable media players. Kleer’s investors are venture capitalists such as US Venture Partners, TL Ventures, VenGrowth and the Business Development Bank of Canada. The company’s top executives consist of Levent Gun, Ralph Mason, Ron Glibbery, Michael Van der Tol, and Brian Nelson.

As a manufacturer of wireless audio products, Kleer competes with brands such as Bluetooth. To compete with the more popular Bluetooth, the company markets its wireless technology as a more viable alternative. Kleer contends that its products produce better sound, are less immune to interference, can pick up signals from longer distances, and consume less power.

Kleer’s line of products is called the Kleer Audio LP. The products under this brand vary from headphones used for stereos and MP3 players to wireless audio USB adaptors. The products also allow up to 4 simultaneous users to listen into the same audio source without any effect on the sound quality. The company calls it Listen In technology. Video streaming from a portable player to another device such as a display monitor is also made possible.

Among the products Kleer has produced for its partners are wireless audio adaptors for the iPod, wireless stereo speakers, wireless audio USB adaptors, and bicycle speakers. The wireless stereo headphones the company designed with Sennheiser won the European Imaging and Sound Association (EISA) Award in 2008.
