This service consists of a packet over an SONET OC48/OC12 Internet frame that provides various routed links and high speed connections to deliver at the peak levels of reliability and quality. Also, Electric Lightwave provides Private line and Voice services as end to end solutions for dedicated networking needs. They also allow customers to build secure, reliable and seamless bonds between all parts of a customer’s business.

Electric Lightwave designs its network while anticipating Internet traffic that will clog the public NAPs (Network Access Points). Besides the backbone of Electric Lightwave, there are over two hundred private peering paths in different locations through the west and northwest United States.

Electric Lightwave constantly monitors its networks whereas most other network providers allow over-usage of their resources. Such monitoring allows Electric Lightwave to forecast any potential Internet traffic congestion and address the issue before it becomes a problem for any of Electric Lightwave’s clients.

The Electric Lightwave network is technically sound to provide peak bandwidth usage of fifty percent at all times. Capping Internet traffic at the fifty percent threshold means that more bandwidth is available in order to accommodate any increases in the traffic or usage.

Electric Lightwave has Network Access Points in eleven cities in the western United States and utilizes Cisco 12000 Gateway and Core routers. The company also uses the NetTrends web tool to monitor circuit performance in its network.
