In 1996, however, the company became less of a strong contender in the business market because of the Asian financial crisis that had emerged during that rime. In the end of its quest for business excellence, the company was able to pull itself out of the firm’s wreckage by mass-producing a number of everyday technologies. These technologies include firmware, mini-software for business usage, and Commercial DVD players.

As of date, Oak Technology is more of a memory and a history more than being a legacy in the business world. Before commencing its fall, the company produced and manufactures a number of highly-impressive products that they have innovated, catapulting the company to its peak years. These products that were manufactured include graphic controllers for “super VGA” enhanced computer graphics, OTI-95C71 Video Compression/Expansion Processors and OTI-011 CD-ROM controllers. These products are still made available in the market right now but are sold in different brand names.

Oak Technology’s video compression and expansion processor software was commonly used in information kiosks and training videos for new corporate employees. The company used its patented “super VGA” graphic controller to break into the portable computer fad in the 1990s.

Over all even if the company is non existent right now, they were still able to start a niche in all the technologies that they ever have made.
