Packard Bell began its quest for excellence as a leading manufacturer and distributor of consumer electronics in 1926. Packard Bell Drivers followed in future years as technology demanded.
Packard Bell Drivers: Proud to be American
The American-owned company started in its humble beginnings distributing consumer radios in to the public. The company’s product line later expanded to include television sets, receivers, radios and other electronics needed by the military for their missions.
They eventually put to production an early computer model called the PB 250, which was developed in 1961 competing with the then computing giant IBM. Through a series of management turn around and events the company was bought out by a company called Teledyne in 1978.
First Packard Bell Drivers Author
Beny Alagem headed a team of Israeli investors in purchasing Packard Bell in 1986. Alagem saw the potential of this computing giant in contrast to directly competing with other big names in its industry. The company name was then changed to Packard Bell Electronics. It focused on IBM-compatible personal computers.
Currently in charge of Packard Bell are Chief Executive Officer and President Aymar de Lencquesaing, Chief Financial Officer Ernest O’Leary and Chief Operating Officer Tom Donnellan.
Packard Bell Drivers and Desktops
Packard Bell was the second largest manufacturer of desktop computers and the fifth when it came to laptops.
Packard Bell merged with NEC Computers in 1996. Packard Bell NEC was then formed.
Packard Bell was removed from the United States market in 2000 when NEC decided to restructure. Its US product catalogue and customer support was transferred to Alorica Inc. It still offers and supports products in Europe under the name Packard Bell Europe.
John Hui purchased the company in September of 2006. Hence, the name changed to Packard Bell BV. The main headquarters moved to Nijmegen in the Netherlands. Hui later agreed to sell Packard Bell to computer hardware company Gateway, Inc. in 2007. Acer got a 75% share in Packard Bell in January 2008 after it bought Gateway.
Packard Bell launched limited edition lightweight notebooks in 2008. These EasyNote BG48 notebooks have a 12-inch screen, 13-inch EasyNote RS66 and EasyNote ST86 with a 17-inch screen.
Packard Bell Drivers and Computers Thrive still
The company still specializes in personal computers while including some computing devices in its product line. Packard Bell sells several models of desktop and laptop computers. It also expanded to MP3 players, GPS devices, computer monitors, external hard drives, laptop accessories and internal memory. Its main competitors are Dell, Fujitsu Siemens and Hewlett-Packard.
