Description: Saitek is a manufacturer and designer of electronic devices such as keyboards, computer mice, and game controllers; not excluding tabletop and portable chess games. Established in 1979, they incorporated the use of microcontrollers to produce chess games. In 1993, the company decided to enter the industry of PC game controllers and has since then, grown to be the 2nd known brand globally.

The company was founded by Eric Winkler, a Swiss technologist who specializes in the design and production of electronic chess games. Under his leadership, the company has continuously expanded according to increase of the gaming industry’s demands for gaming equipment or peripherals. Saitek currently has offices in the United States, Germany, France, United Kingdom and China. Over the years the company expanded its line of products from PC and iPod audio to include controllers used for driving and game simulator.

The Saitek Company was acquired by Mad Catz Incorporated in 2007. The operation of Saitek in North America was reassigned to Mad Catz Incorporated, a publicly recognized manufacturer and provider of entertainment peripherals.

The company’s line of products was designed and blueprinted by gamers for gamers to assist every client in achieving the best results for their specific PC game. Up to date, Saitek continues to innovate and dedicate products for its clients ranging from headsets, loudspeakers, to controllers, PC peripherals, and the Saitek Mice.

By 1995, the Company had manufactured high fidelity audio devices. Two years later; the company inaugurated the Electronic Manufacturing Services (EMS) building and designing apparatus for clients for its new facility in China.

One of Saitek’s well known peripherals is recognized as the ‘Eclipse’ gaming keyboards. These are made from an anodized aluminum that can be categorized in two types. These are the Eclipse I, which is comprised of 3 lighting levels (off, dim and bright), including the backlight blue LED keys; and the Eclipse II, which is made of multiple light levels for brightness with lesser etched keys.

The company has also developed gaming equipment known as the ‘Cyborg’ range of playing devices. In 2006, the company publicly introduced the AV8R joystick; their version of the dual-throttle joystick. Saitek also manufactures the GM3200 which is used as a gaming mouse that incorporated featuring movement tracking through laser, light effects and DPI settings of 1600, 800, 2400, 3200.
