Description: Seikosha is the mother company of a more popular Japanese company called Seiko. Although more highly associated with watches, it also manufactures computer printers and other computer devices. All the companies belonging to the Seiko Group are spin offs of the Seikosha.

Seikosha is a very old company. It has seen long years of experience and expertise in both the watches and computer hardware industries. The company was founded in 1892 but was duly established as a dominant force in the industry only in 1996. The president of the company is Masayuki Nakayama. Right now, Seikosha is known as Seiko Precision. The company was established by Kintaro Hattori, a predecessor of the Seiko Holding Corporation. He is also the owner of the K. Hattori & Co. Ltd.

Although the company is more popularly know due to they long line of watches, it is not the initial line of Seikosha. They had ventured into the production of camera shutters before going into the watch industry. By 1968, the company released Japan’s first ever desktop computer that used hybrid integrated circuits. They named that product the S-300. Four years after that, Seikosha became an individual entity; independent of the K. Hattori & Co. Ltd. It was also around that time when they started the creation of Real Time Online computer systems.

The venture opened up new doors for the company, as they also went into online data processing, transceivers, LAN, calculators, and graphic printers. They have also found the need to expand into different territories like Germany, Hong Kong, China, Korea, and Thailand. They set up offices and plants in these key areas as an answer to their growing orders of computer hardware and supplies. However, the head office still remains in Japan, along with numerous other smaller offices in several other cities.

Seiko Precision Inc, formerly Seikosha, is an affiliate of the Misato Precision Incorporated and the Azusa Precision Incorporated, along with the other long established Seiko companies of the world. Together, these companies strive to deliver quality product to their clients, end-users, and loyal consumers situated all over the world. Epson Corporation is also closely affiliated with the company, as it was formerly known as the Seiko Epson Corporation.
