The company was formally registered on June 17, 2005 and is recognized as a private business under the Ministry of Commerce. Its main offices are located in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. SEK provides services and products for clients in both the local and international markets.

The Software Evolution Khmer Company is engaged in the business of providing and developing new technologies. Having developed the first version of Khmer Unicode typing and Keyboard driver, SEK also specializes in developing web content with Unicode character sets.

The Khmer Unicode typing and Keyboard driver is also compatible with the Windows Vista operating system. This is also said to be the first keyboard driver in the Khmer language to be present in a Windows operating system.

SEK developed various database-supporting programs for new mechanisms. Some of these mechanisms include the webcam, the Touch Screen, Barcode Reader, and Epson receipt printer. The Khmer language, the official language of Cambodia, is spoken by an estimated 12,000,000 Cambodians.
