On March 6, 2007, Sierra Wireless announced the purchase of AirLink Communication. AirLink was a manufacturer and supplier of wireless data devices located in Hayward, California. The acquisition of AirLink amounted up to USD 27 million. Sierra Wireless also acquired Junxion, a developer of Linux-based wireless mobile connections and network routers, on August 5, 2008.

Throughout its 15 years of existence, Sierra Wireless has aimed to provide the wireless and software needs of embedded software developers, wireless LAN operators, and common users. The company’s product line includes AirCard products (AirCard PC cards and AirCard Express cards), USB modems, embedded modules, AirLink Mobile & M2M, and software solutions allowing mobile users to have wireless LAN access.

The three categories of Sierra Wireless’ software solutions are: adapter software, embedded software, and machine-to-machine software. With these products, Sierra Wireless continues to build strong relationships with its clients in over forty countries in the world.
