Description: Tiny Computers Company is a computer hardware manufacturer that is based in Redhill Business Park at Surrey, England. It was founded sometime in 1990 and is considered as one of the longest and biggest enterprise in the field of computer manufacturing in the United Kingdom.

The success of the company was evident by the presence of their products in every major (including small scale) computer retail stores across the UK. However, due to a sudden turn around of company profits, manufacturing and sales were affected. This proved to be a key opportunity for Time Computers to acquire control of the ailing company in 2002. The take over was done through the intervention of administrators who confirmed the financial problem of Tiny. The acquisition revitalized Tiny Computers and allowed time to transfer assembly operation in the UK to neighboring Scotland in Time’s Burnley headquarters.

Through the initiatives of Tahir Mohsan (Managing Director) and Brian Trevaskis (Marketing Director), both Tiny and its sister company Time were able to reestablish their position in the UK computer market. Tiny continued to provide consumers and businesses with computers (both desktop and notebook) and peripherals. And with the inception of Internet technology, Tiny Computers was one of the very first UK based companies to undergo rebranding by appending the dot com (.com) suffix to its name.

In February of 2004, Tiny Computers officially became known as Tiny.com with its own corresponding website address. This move was seen as a form of cost reduction as well as taking advantage of the emerging e-commerce technology.Brian Boys (Tiny.com General Manager) intimated that the move was an attempt to tap to the growing online goods purchasing market including elimination of costly retail store overheads. Through this effort, Tiny Computers was able to maintain delivery of the lowest cost personal computers in the market.

Some of the more noteworthy desktop computer products manufactured by Tiny were Building Block (486DX2-66), Pentium-PCI (75 MHz), Tiny 586P-75, Pentium-PCI (120/133 MHz), and the Tiny P133TP. Among the various computer manufacturers at the time, the closest competitors to the Tiny products were Dell UK, Acer UK, and Hewlett-Packard Limited.

According to the company, in the year 2000, they were able to sell approximately 400,000 units of computer systems. Tiny Computers became popular with the slogan used for its advertising, Think big about your PC – think Tiny.
