The main products of Tridium provide connectivity. It makes software frameworks to manage smart devices. One of its more popular products is NiagaraAX. This program is a development environment and framework that can be used to manage several computer systems. It is used with device-to-enterprise applications, Internet-enabled products and distributed Internet-enabled automation systems. Niagara was one of the company’s earliest products. NiagaraR2 was released in 1999. It was used with more than 120,000 Niagara-based programs. It was one of the first software framework products released. It was also one of the earliest that could normalize support and normalize the behavior and data of different interconnected devices. NiagaraR2 could work with equipment regardless of the manufacturers and communication protocol used by each. Other products developed by the company are similar to, or work with, the Niagara program. Tridium also made the Vykon program. This system is used to manage several facilities of a building. It can control the automation, energy and security devices of the building.
Tridium, Inc.’s products were sold via a number of distribution lines. Original Equipment Manufacturers and retailers sell them. Independent systems integrators and energy service companies also use the products and make them part of the services they offered. The company maintained partnerships with a number of companies such as Schneider Electric/Square D, Carrier, CPC, ABB, McQuay, Staefa and TAC.
The company also had a partnership with Honeywell. Honeywell eventually bought Tridium, Inc. in 2005. Tridium still stands as an independent company as a Honeywell International, Inc. subsidiary. Most of the Tridium products are now sold via Honeywell reps.
