Description: TurbocComm Tech, Inc. is a Taiwan-based company established in August 1998. TurboComm USA was established in September 1999, after a joint venture with TurboComm Taiwan. To closely service American customers, TurboComm Taiwan acquired Castle Technology Inc., making it the US branch office. The company’s capital is said to be at USD15.6 million. The company headquarters is located in Taipei, Taiwan. There are also two well-established factories in Tao Yuan, Taiwan and Nanjing, China. The US sales office is located in Diamond Bar, California. The key executives in the company are Jiaxiang Lu, Chairman of the Board and General Manager; Jiaxi Chen, Deputy General Manager of Research and Development; Daren Fang, Assistant General Manager for Finance and Accounting; and Donghui Lin, Deputy General Manager for the Production Division.

In January 2002, TurboComm had its first IPO in the Taiwan Stock Market. It had 10,965 shareholders as of 21 December 2007 and outstanding shares of 66,492,898 as of 30 June 2008. Another milestone in TurboComm’s history is its receipt of several ISO certifications, including ISO9002, ISO9001:2000 and ISO1400.

Originally TurboComm started with manufacturing Internet access communication products. It has now five product lines including cable modems, xDSL, 56K Modem, wireless networks, and multimedia. TurboComm multimedia products include video players such as MP3/MP4 portable theatres and network players. The company also manufactures digital televisions, namely the ATSC digital TV tuner with USB interface. TurboComm also covers security by providing network IP cameras and digital video recorders for the IP camera. In terms of wireless network, TurboComm produces 140Mbps wireless routers, wireless USB adapters, and wireless PCI adapters. Its wide area network products are cable modems, including packet cable VoIP cable modems, CableLabs certified DOCSIS 2.0 cable modems, and DOCSIS 2.0 cable modem modules.

TurboComm is an OEM (original equipment manufacturer) company. It has major competitors in the form of Asian manufacturers in the same market. The company distributes its products to overseas markets in North America, Europe, Asia and Australia.
