Description: Twister BV is an engineering company that specializes in the field of gas processing systems and gas conditioning technology. The main office and technology headquarters of Twister is located in the Netherlands. The technology used by Twister, or as how the company calls it “Twister™ Supersonic Gas Technologies” started out in the aerospace industry used by Stork NV.
In the year 2000, Shell got interested and eventually obtained all intellectual property. Shell then began investing on Twister technology, allowing the creation and use of a series of test units. At first, test units where built and tested on selected Shell sites until Shell acquired external investors in 2001 to put up Shell Technology Ventures. In 2005, Lime Rock Partners, a new investor took part in the tests until the Twister technology was perfected. In fact, a model of Twister technology was successfully installed and tested in Malaysia. Soon enough, Twister got the attention of the gas consuming industries. Twister was even recognized and awarded in 2006 for the installation of a Twister system to condition the gas used for gas operated power stations located in Nigeria.
Today, Twister offers solutions for gas conditioning and gas processing that aids to improve the supply of the natural resource and help in keeping up with global energy supply challenges. Twister technology is used to provide innovative and environmentally friendly modules gas processing.
The services offered by Twister BV include support for commissioning and operations, project management, conceptual engineering, HYSYS or process engineering, and flow solutions for gas processing. On the other hand, the three main solutions provided by Twister™ Supersonic Gas Technologies are NGL recovery, Dehydration, and Dewpointing. All three improves the performance of gas operated engines by dropping the pressure and volume of gas that is being consumed.
After a series of successful and extensive testing of the Twister technology in its five gas plants (Sarawak Shell Berhad, Petronas, Netherlands, Norway, Nigeria), Twister BV is going commercial and Twister technology is currently being used to optimize gas conditioning.
