Description: TXCom is a French company which manufactures, creates and services hardware and software for the logistic information chain. It is the first European producer dedicated to RF terminal and software applied to the ID.

Founded in 1990 by four shareholders and France Telecom, the company’s original specialization is radio transmission data devices such as industrial PCs and handheld terminals but has expanded its operation to the implementation of global solutions.

In 1994, TXCom developed EUROTX, a radio frequency network. It also created the first radio frequency handheld terminal called EPSILON. It is sold under the names FREESCAN and TOMAHAWK by UBI and INTERSCAN. In 1995, the shares of France Telecom in TXCom were sold and taken over by Spectra Physics Scanning System (SPSS). However, in 1996, SPSS was acquired by PSC. The company set up a new logistics approach when it became independent again in 1997. That same year, it released OPYOM in the market. It was its second handheld terminal.

Some of the TXCom’s known products launched since 2002 include the third TXCOM handheld terminal MINIOM, the CD0 ETHERNET, the Long-Range version of the MINIOM, the Hand Free Scanner TINYOM, the HELYOM Bluetooth Integration of the CCD reader in the scanner, and the integration of the VISYOM into TXCOM Embedded terminals range. Also available on the company’s price list are products compatible with 802 11b WIFI and work within the 2.4GHz band.

TXCom is also involved in the study and development of radio transmissions. This includes modems, radio frequency terminals and software applied to the ID environment, the management of physical flows, original equipment manufacturer radio boards and radio terminals.

The company has sold more than 40,000 radio terminals through value-added resellers worldwide. It incorporated the 2.4GHz standard spectrum.
