Description: Wen Technology, Inc. was started in 1994. The company developed from a process monitoring and sensor application manufacturing company which was started 15 years earlier. The company expanded to include the original business and then expanded to other industries. It presently manufactures computer systems and peripheral accessories.

WEN Technology Corp. was started in the 1990s. Its headquarters are located in New York. The company introduced the first notebook with voice recognition features in 1995. This was followed by a number of other innovations that were later adopted by the entire industry.

WEN Technology Corp. currently includes a magnetics and sensors division. WEN Products manufactures electronic hand tools for end consumers while the WENTech brand was used in producing circuit boards for power supplies and other electric components.

Some of the technologies introduced by the company were a 29-inch HDTV with SVGA computer monitor support in 1996; extra thin LCD screens that could be used as a TV or computer monitor in 1997; first desktop touch screen tele-videoconferencing system which uses a graphic user interface in 1995; and the Anthrax Zapper, which was patented in 2001 for use in office mail rooms, with the ability of killing harmful bacteria.

The current product lineup of the company is still centered on computer monitors. The products range from CCTV security monitors to touch screen, PCTV, HDTV, CRT and LCD monitors. The company can also build customized monitors and systems. These may be handheld, mobile, personal, special, rack-mounted or ruggedized systems depending on the client’s specification.

WEN Technology Corp. also creates custom-built multimedia kiosks. These may be used for education or commerce. It is also availed of by the government to provide various services. The kiosks come with an integrated secure Internet connection and phone access. Some of the kiosks built by the company provided education using a Virtual Private Global Network (VPGN) and Wide Area Network (WAN).

Other products include a medical IT system for multimedia and emergency room hospital applications and the Rugged Notebook with a removable hard drive, CD-ROM and floppy drive. The solution division of the company addresses the client’s IT needs. IT services are focused on maximizing and managing LAN, WAN, Global Networks and communication systems.

Wen Technology Corporation is also an IBM development partner for e-business web development. It is authorized to re-sell and develop components from other companies, such as Sony, Panasonic, IBM, Compaq and others.
