Description: Xante is a company that provides prepress multimedia solutions. It has currently acquired two more companies which resulted in the expansion of its production line and services. For some time now, Xante has been known to set standards for the printing and prepress industry. Xante achieved this through research and development and through continuous change in technology.
Xante began as a company in the year 1989. Its first line of production was found in the process of upgrading printing machines from two companies: Hewlett-Packard and Apple. This saw the birth of the 600 x 600 dots per inch printing resolution --- the first of its kind in the printing arena. Today, Xante provides the largest resolution still, with 2400 x 2400 dots per inch.
The acquisition of two other companies was done for the purpose of integrating several technologies to the general line up of Xante. The added/integrated technologies which resulted from the acquisition were the Process-free CTP, Polyster solutions and Violet metal.
The executive committee of Xante have been listed as the following: Robert Ross (President and CEO), Mark Swanzy (COO), Mary Ann Harris (CFO), Ken Parker (VP for Engineering), Arthur Verwey (VP for Worldwide OEM Sales), Pat Dooley (VP for Manufacturing, Inventory and Distribution), Scott Reese (Senior VP for Worldwide Sales), Wayne Wasulko (VP, RIP Development) and Tom Eager (VP for Software Development).
Xante has two major partners in the prepress and printing industry: Adobe Systems and Agfa. The partnership with Adobe Systems began in the year 1993. It gave Xante the rights to the code of Adobe Postcript. The result of the partnership was the Accel-A-Writer 8200.
On the other hand, the partnership with Agfa-Gavaert Group resulted in according Xante the role of supplying polyester plates for the Group in the North American region. The partnership today gave rights to Xante to become the exclusive supplier of Myriad 2 plates.
