Description: Zynx Networks is the world’s top supplier of network and switch solutions. Founded in 1993, the company is now stationed in Fremont, California. The company’s founders, Connie Austin and Alan Deikman are now Zynx’s President and Chief Executive Officer and Chief Technology Officer respectively.

ZYNX Networks is a pioneer in providing embedded Ethernet solutions. These solutions have high-availability switch blades. They also have scalable network systems compatible with CarrierClass™ systems and Service Provider environments. Zynx started with the production of solutions for the embedded Ethernet market. It eventually moved on to enter the telecommunications market. In 1998, it began to produce Compact PCI solutions. A year after, it extended into the manufacture of embedded switches. In 2000, Zynx produced the first open integrated management software platform for embedded switches. In 2001, it released its first Compact Packet Switching Backplane.

ZYNX’s Carrier Grade Ethernet switches provide IP-based command-control internal communication functions. These are powered by OpenArchitect, an open software for routing, control and management of embedded Ethernet switches. OpenArchitect is also an integrated management software platform. The Carrier Grade Ethernet switches come with built-in support for dozens of standard network routing protocols. They also have management applications employed in the system. These applications allow the quick implementation of chassis-based applications for the business requirements of the switches.

Also powered by OpenArchitect software are the embedded Ethernet Switches integrated with IP (Internet Protocol) switch silicon, a routing table, and an onboard routing computer system for processing protocols. These products use Linux networking applications. They also support custom IP policies in its value-added OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) solutions.

Software and IP drivers from ZYNX Networks implement services and HA solutions that do not require proprietary development for Carrier Grade and Service Provider environments. Using OpenArchitect software enables powerful and high value telecommunication solutions with standard components.

Apart from OpenArchitect, the company also created the Redundant Array of Independent Netports or RAINlink. This provides HA for switching applications, dynamic load balancing, link aggregations, fast fail-over and system-to-system trunking.

ZYNX Networks’ hardware and software supports and enables applications such as firewalls, terabit routers, airborne Internet services, call server platforms, video media gateways, central office switching, voice over-IP gateways, application servers and wireless base stations.
